Pixar is a computer animation movie studio based in Northern California. Although initially the company was geared toward computer-generated imagery (CGI) hardware, it eventually began producing completely CGI short films and feature length movies. With the release of Toy story in 1995, the company revolutionized the faltering animation industry. The company was originally owned by Lucasfilm, and was created to develop advanced animation technology for use in live-action movies. In 1986, the company was purchase by Steve Jobs, the head of Apple, Inc. The company developed the Pixar Imaging Computer, which met with a limited market although it attracted the interest of Walt Disney Studios, particularly through its short film demonstrations made by an employee named John Lasseter . In 1991, despite bad sales of their computer, Walt Disney made a three-picture production deal with the studio, the first of which would be Toy Story. Pixar contributed to the movie industry by creating an academy award winning computer animation studio with the technical, creative and production capabilities to create a new generation of animated feature films that attracts all ages. Pixar has also contributed to the movie industry by making computer animation a success and continues to show their creativity through its art and technology. Not only do they make fun animated films they also make short films included in the animated film. In many ways, Pixar Studios revitalized the movie industry when it brought Toy Story to the big screen in 1995. The studio turned digital animation into a multi-million dollar business, by enabling the medium to reach older demographics. However, Pixar was not always this successful, the studio nearly went bankrupt before releasing Toy Story; they managed to stay afloat by taking on commercial projects on behalf of Tropicana, Listerine, and Lifesavers. Going on Pixar Animation Studios is an American computer animation film studio based in Emeryville California, United States. The studio has earned twenty-six Academy awards, seven Golden Globes, and three Grammys , among many other awards and acknowledgments. Its films have made over $6.3 billion worldwide. It is best known for its CGI-animated feature films created with Photo Realistic Render man, its own implementation of the industry-standard Render-man image-rendering application programming interface used to generate high-quality images. Pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group, part of the Computer Division of Lucasfilm before it was acquired by Apple co-founder Steve jobs in 1986. The Walt Disney Company bought Pixar in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion; the transaction made Jobs the largest shareholder in Disney. Pixar has produced eleven feature films, beginning with Toy Story in 1995. It was followed by A Bug's Life in 1998, Toy Story 2 in 1999, Monsters, Inc. in 2001, Finding Nemoin 2003, The Incredibles in 2004, Cars in 2006, Ratatouille in 2007, WALL-E in 2008, Up in 2009 and Toy Story 3 (to date, the highest-grossing animated film of all-time, grossing over $1 billion worldwide), in 2010. All eleven films that Pixar has produced have been largely successful, both critically and commercially. The $602 million average gross of their films is by far the highest of any studio in the industry. Not only does Pixar make awesome animated movies Pixar also makes short films so far Pixar has made eighteen short films. In addition pixar films has contributed some of the most famous movies to the film industry and so far from what i see they will last . Pixar has always and will always be seen . |
